Event Details
Due to the recent outbreak of coronavirus, this event has been postponed in an attempt to reduce the spread of COVID-19. It is our hope that we can offer the seminar at a later date in the coming months.
DESCRIPTION
Barnabas together with the Centre for Healthy Aging and Transition (CHAT) Canada is holding a retreat conference for older adults.
Everyone copes with aging differently. For many people, the so called “Golden Years” are more like “Years of Adjustment” as we deal with change. Some changes are expected and easy to cope with, while others shock a person’s sense of stability, such as an unexpected decline in health or the loss of a loved one.
This seminar retreat will help 55+ adults understand more about the changes of aging, discussing our faith in the midst of getting older, and looking at how we might give back. A forum of young adults will share how
they need you right now, and how you can help them through mentoring.
Together we will explore:
- Review this time of life
- Reframing retirement
- Finding places we can give back
- How to identify what you can contribute
- Spend time talking to young adults
- How to help us think together into the future
